First of all let me thank everyone yet again for all of the help we have received. We have had people raise money for medical bills, dinners brought in, treats and groceries brought over, many other gifts, people have taken our kids out to play, and we have appreciated the cards, thoughts, prayers and tons of love. Thank you so much.
Poor Sofia is struggling through but it seems she just can't get ahead. She has been bleeding off and on since the baby was born and so they decided to do a D&C and to have a look around in her abdomen. Everything looked fine on the pictures but they took some tissue samples from the uterus and they came back abnormal. The tissue isn't cancerous yet but on the way there it seems. Normally they treat that with progesterone but her breast cancer uses progesterone to grow and so she can’t take that. Also in a few weeks when she finishes radiation she will start on Tamoxifen which reduces the risk of breast cancer recurrence but which increases the risk of uterine cancer. Sooo it looks like in the next few weeks she will go in to have her uterus and ovaries removed to reduce the risk of those cancers.
She is supposed to go back to work in a couple weeks but is filing for an extension to her leave in order to deal with these new developments. Her contacts at school seem to think given her circumstances it should go through without any trouble. We just need to get all the paperwork filed this week. She is super tired all the time and a bit depressed as you can imagine. Anyway, keep her in you prayers.
